WHAT SIZE ARE YOU?
I am a size 0, small (sometimes x-small), 24/25 in jeans and 7½ in shoes.
HOW TALL ARE YOU?
I’m 5’7″. Still wishing I were taller!
WHO TAKES YOUR PHOTOS?
Most photos of me are taken by my friend Bethany and edited by me. All other photos are taken by me unless I’ve attributed credit.
WHERE DID YOU GET __________?
I try to link to anything I own that is still available in stores within my posts and in the shop the post widgets below each post. If an item is no longer available, I try to link to something similar.
CAN I USE YOUR PHOTOS ON MY SITE?
As long as you’re not using them for marketing or affiliate purposes, absolutely. Just make sure that images are clearly credited with link back to By Wild and that the image isn’t being used to sell a product. I do charge a fee for photos being used in commerce. If you’d like to use my photo on Instagram, please tag and @mention me!
WHEN DID YOU START BLOGGING?
I blogged on and off for fun in college and a little after. I started By Wild in March 2016 and launched in April 2016.
I WANT TO START A BLOG, DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO GET STARTED?
Just start. Stop talking about starting and just start. There are so many elements of creating a successful blog that it can be really overwhelming and you’ll find yourself talking about starting a blog for months before you do a thing. Get started and learn as you go. It’s okay for things to be a little rough. By Wild will always be a work in progress. I will have written hundreds of blog posts before I feel like I’m getting the hang of it. Write, take pictures, practice styling clothes, or whatever it is you plan on photographing. Take a Photoshop class or pay a photographer friend to teach you a few things. Great light and good editing goes a long way. The to do list to actually create what you have envisioned in your head is endless, so just get started and admit that your blog isn’t going to be top-blogger material from day one. No one’s blog looked that good from day one. Don’t let perfectionism prevent you from starting at all.
HOW DID YOU GROW YOUR FOLLOWING?
I think having quality photos is a big part, but staying relatable is so key. The social networks we live on today are largely image driven. I used to serve as a Living Editor for The Everygirl, and that definitely gave me a boost in followers. Honestly, you just want to be putting yourself out there and genuinely interacting with other people. Don’t focus on looking like your life is interesting. Live an interesting life. Then document it.
WHO DESIGNED YOUR WEBSITE?
Lindsay Humes creates some beautiful blog themes that are available for purchase from her shop. Gotta go check her out!
